Sustainability embedded across all levels of management
At Morley College, sustainability is a core value integrated into every level of our organization, from leadership to students. This commitment starts with our Lead Governor and Chief Financial Officer (CFO), both of whom are key members of the Sustainable Development Steering Group, guiding strategic decisions on sustainability initiatives. Our Senior Leadership Team plays an active role in this group, ensuring that sustainable practices are prioritized across all areas.
Further embedding sustainability within the institution, Program Area Managers serve as Sustainability Champions at each of our centers, driving eco-friendly practices and encouraging staff and students alike to embrace a greener mindset. Our tutors, equipped with Carbon Literacy training, are fully qualified to pass on their knowledge and deliver vital sustainability education to our students.
Our sustainability team
The college has established a Sustainable Development Steering Group, chaired by the CFO. The Steering Group reports to both the Senior Leadership Team and the Governing Body through a governor with thematic oversight of sustainability initiatives at the college. The college has recently established the Net Zero and Sustainability Project Manager role in support of sustainability and environmental protection efforts, which reports directly to the CFO.
