Morley is a friendly, open and inclusive college and we are proud of the learning support we offer students across all centres. We encourage all students to disclose learning difficulties and disabilities so that we can tailor a support package that will enable you to achieve your goals.
- Individual support for students on accredited courses can be through either weekly one-to-one sessions, in-class support or exam access arrangements as appropriate.
- Some students may require adjustments in class and the Learning Support Coordinator in your centre will work with your tutor to ensure they understand your requirements and how to implement them.
- If you have a physical or sensory disability, we have specialist equipment that you may find helpful
How do I start the process?
We like to get your support in place as early as possible once your course begins; this increases your chances of success. You can ask your tutor to refer you to ALS, refer yourself by completing this form or call into the centre where you are studying to pick up a referral form from Reception.
We encourage you come in for a Needs Assessment even if you are not sure if you have a disability or learning difficulty. It is our job to establish if you have a support need and if you do, decide what course of action is required. The Needs Assessment lasts around 45 minutes and is totally confidential.
Education, Health, Care Plan (EHCP)
If you have an Education, Health, Care Plan (EHCP), we ask that contact your local authority and inform them that you are interested in studying at Morley College. Your Local Authority will then need to send your EHCP to ehcp@morleycollege.ac.uk as part of their consultation process.
The Additional Learning Support (ALS) Team will review the EHCP and contact you and the local authority.
Please note the deadline for the college to receive an EHCP consultation is 31st March 2024
