The Morley Chamber Orchestra: Viennese Elegance

An evening featuring the finest works of Vienna’s most iconic composers.

The concert opens with Cytheren Quadrille by Johann Strauss Jr., a lively and spirited dance piece that epitomizes the charm and energy of the Viennese ballroom. Strauss’s infectious rhythms and elegant waltzes will have you transported to the heart of 19th-century Vienna, where high society gathered for opulent soirées.

Next, the evening continues with Mozart’s Concert Rondo in D Major, K. 382, a brilliant and exuberant work that showcases the composer’s genius. Featuring the orchestra’s soloist, this piece is a sparkling blend of lyrical beauty and virtuosic flair, highlighting Mozart’s exquisite sense of balance and drama.

The concert concludes with Franz Schubert’s Symphony No. 6 in C Major, a work of warmth and optimism that embodies the spirit of 19th-century Viennese symphonic tradition. With its sweeping melodies and lush orchestration, Schubert’s symphony offers a perfect finale to an evening of grace and grandeur.
