Open Day: North Kensington Centre for Skills

Our Open Evening Thursday 17 October 2024 between 5:00pm – 7:00pm, is a great opportunity to find out more about North Kensington Centre for Skills and how we can help you achieve your goals and career ambitions.

We offer great courses for 16-18s, in business, sciences, health and social care, IT, music and for adult learners wanting to return to higher education or to improve their literacy and numeracy skills in English and maths.

Come and tour our newly rebuilt modern centre, try out our fantastic resources like our science labs, business and IT suites, art studios and more and meet our tutors to discuss your options

Meet with our specialist subject tutors and ALS teams to discuss your options.

At our open day events you can;

17:00-19:00Jewellery with Jenny MacDonald: These taster workshops will introduce you to the jewellery studio and the fundamentals of metal in the jewellery studio at Morley College North Kensington. Join us for a jewellery-making taster session in our specialist workshop. Come and get creative exploring metal and learn more about our wide range of specialist jewellery-making courses. 16:30-17:30Glass with Maria Zulueta: Morley College North Kensington invites you to join us for a glass-making taster session in our specialist workshop. Join Glass for a taster session and create a unique beautiful glass coaster using surface decorations with patterns and textures using enamel colours. Your finished glass piece will be available for collection the following week from Friday. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to sponge, splash and have a colourful and fun experience! 17:00-19:00Ceramics with Danielle Bunker: Come and enjoy a free ceramic taster session at Morley College North Kensington, perfect for anyone who’s ever wanted to try their hand working with ceramics! Make your own creation in clay and enjoy a few hours of playful experimentation, pressing a variety of objects into clay slabs for texture, stretching and tearing clay, decorating and joining with slips, and finally making two or three clay pieces. 17:30 – 18:30Songwriting and Music Production with Luke Lount: Morley College North Kensington invites you to join us for a free songwriting and music production workshop.  Students will be shown how to create a song using traditional or modern practices in a fun and relaxed setting. No previous experience is needed, and your teacher will guide you through the process.  The class will also feature a tour of our cutting-edge industry-standard facilities and a short discussion on the courses we offer.
