Morley’s Painting and Drawing department offers courses to develop your skills, pursue your ideas and unleash your imagination. Whether you choose to draw in pencil, charcoal or ink, or to paint in watercolour, gouache, acrylic and oil, our tutors are here to guide you. You can explore portraiture, the human figure, still life, landscape and abstraction in our range of taster, beginner and advanced courses.
Our Pre-Foundation and year-long Art Foundation (accredited by UAL) courses make it possible for you to build a portfolio in drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking and digital arts ready for your university application. We also offer a wide range of art and design history courses to support you in contextualising your practice as an artist.
Morley’s mixed ability project-based courses will enable you to build a more individual approach to your subject matter allowing you to further your personal practice. You will also be able to exhibit your work professionally, providing students with a unique learning opportunity.
At Morley, we are committed to showcasing student work in our exhibition spaces: the Barry Till Gallery, the Cardew Space and Morley Gallery.
