Explore and elevate your etching skills with the aim of creating intricate, detailed, and visually stunning prints based on subjects that inspire you. This course focuses on developing one or two small-scale plates, allowing you to experiment with a variety of etching techniques. You’ll have the opportunity to bring your personal etching project to life, combining both simple and advanced methods to produce professional-quality plates. Techniques covered include hard and soft ground, aquatint, spit bite, sugar lift, and other experimental approaches, all while enhancing your understanding of plate production and printing with nitric acid. This course welcomes participants of all experience, fostering a collaborative environment where beginners, intermediates, and advanced students can learn together in a vibrant, well-equipped studio. You’ll be encouraged to pursue your own creative projects with guidance from the tutor, who will help you deepen your understanding, build confidence, and fully express your artistic vision through a diverse range of printmaking processes. Additionally, you are encouraged to dedicate time to practice at home to maximize their learning experience.
