What you will learn

The Level 2 Creative Media Production (and Technology) Diploma is designed to equip you with essential skills and techniques for the dynamic world of media production. Focusing on the intersection of esports, gaming, content creation, and moving image, this course will introduce you to the core elements of esports broadcasting, video production, live streaming, graphic design and photography. You will learn key skills in media production, including using professional cameras (such as DSLRs), lighting, sound equipment, and green screens, all tailored to creating high-quality esports content. In addition to technical expertise, you'll also develop valuable presentation and communication skills, essential for producers, streamers, and esports event hosts. The course covers a broad spectrum of creative projects, with a focus on audio, visual, and interactive media—allowing you to gain hands-on experience in creating engaging content for the growing esports industry. This diploma will provide you with the foundational skills needed to succeed in the world of media production.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

Apply creative and technical skills in the development of multimedia projects, integrating graphic design, photography, and video production to produce engaging and interactive content
Demonstrate proficiency in media production techniques by using professional equipment (DSLR cameras, lighting, sound) to create high-quality content and promotional materials

All course materials (project briefs, background notes, handouts, YouTube videos, links to content etc.) will be available online.

Entry requirements

You do not need to have prior knowledge of this subject area prior to applying; we require and expect passion, curiosity and drive. You require 3 GCSE grades at grade 3 or above including English or Maths

All resources will be provided, though we would advise you bring a portable external hard drive to store created digital assets.You need a positive, can-do attitude with plenty of enthusiasm for the creative industries. You will be eager to learn, bursting with potential and ready to challenge your understanding of the world in which we live.
