There are other versions of this course available. We’ve listed them below and summarized the differences between the one that you are currently viewing.
Develop your drawing ability through practical exercises using a wide range of subjects including the life model, objects, and landscape. For people with some experience of drawing, this course will help you find ways to draw that suit you, by examining a variety of approaches and artists’ work to instruct and inspire.
Your tutor will introduce each session and its main topic, and provide objects, images, or a life model from which to draw. You will be shown images of relevant artists’ work and demonstrations by your tutor. You will receive individual feedback and have opportunities to show and discuss student work in class.
There are no formal entry requirements but students should have some experience of drawing, e.g. have already taken a beginners’ class.
This course is taught at Morley College Waterloo Centre in studio WC33 which is accessible by lift and stairs.
You will need your own materials. These should include: cartridge paper (e.g. a sketchbook), soft pencils, eraser, sharpener, willow charcoal, soft pastel, ink (either a pen, such as a Tombow brush pen, or a bottle of Indian ink).
