What you will learn

Suitable for all levels. A two session course learning traditional tap combination steps. Each course will be different teaching traditional steps such as timesteps, Suzy Qs and Steve Condos rudiments alongside larger longer tap standards

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • Learn some traditional tap steps and combination steps
  • Improve your ability to absorb and learn tap steps to body memory
  • Have a larger understanding of tap dance histor
  • Discover how to work alongside different ability levels to improve your own tap skills

  • Class format and activities

    After a group warm-up, the room will likely be divided into two groups according to ability. Each group will be taught steps or combinations and then given time to practise in pairs whilst the teacher swaps between groups

    Entry requirements

    A good level of fitness. Please consult your doctor if you are pregnant, have any serious health concerns or a history of injury, and inform your tutor of any physical activity you have been advised to avoid

    What you need to know before you enrol

    A good level of fitness is required to be able to do the practical work. However adjustments will be made to the movements to meet particular physical or learning needs. Photography and film recording of class activities may be used in order to aid learning. These images may also be used for publicity or marketing materials produced by Morley College, both online and in print. You will have the opportunity to either confirm or decline consent to being filmed or photographed
