We'll transform everyday items into artistic tools and discover the magic of relief and intaglio techniques, all while keeping our environmental footprint light. Get ready to experiment, play, and develop your own unique visual language inspired by the process itself!

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • Become an eco-warrior printmaker by using recycled and sustainable materials
  • Transform everyday objects into printing plates
  • Experiment with a variety of inks and printing surfaces.
  • Develop your own visual language inspired by the materials and process.

Class format and activities

In this small group course, guided by your instructor, learn the fundamentals of printmaking such as intaglio, relief and variety of techniques. Build your understanding of printmaking and learn how to create print in a green and sustainable way.

Entry requirements

There is no prior printmaking experience required, this course is suitable for all.

What you need to know before you enrol

Health and Safety information will be given at the start of the course and in subsequent lessons wherever necessary. You will be required to follow good studio etiquette, clean all equipment and help make sure the studio is left tidy at the end of the class.

What you need

Pencil, eraser and notebook for taking notes. Your own sketch books and drawings to work from. We will discuss in the first session if there are any other tools and materials you may want to buy or bring in.
