You are at an ESOL or English Level 2, or above. You will practise academic skills in lively but focused sessions. This course will help you prepare for Access programmes or University entrance. If you are currently on Access or Foundation courses, they will help you develop the skills to succeed. It can help you if you are already studying at the university level and just need some more writing practice and feedback. We tailor your writing tasks to suit your interests and needs and can include practising for ELTS exam if you are a second language speaker, and for your assignments at the level you are at. . You will be helped to develop and improve your English for academic purposes (EAP) as well as your editing and critical thinking skills.
You will - read and develop various forms of writing as well as academic conventions - develop your academic speaking skills - work as a whole group, in pairs or individually, depending on the activity - use the internet and other technology to develop your language skills - build your study skills. In order to ensure that you make the best possible progress on your course, you will have regular and detailed feedback from your tutor in a constructive and supportive environment.
