What you will learn

Enhance your podcast production skills and expand your portfolio with new content and techniques. In the first half of the course, you will focus on getting your podcast ready for release, understanding aggregators, developing a unique identity, and making your content stand out. The second half covers scripting and producing jingles and radio sweeps for Morley Radio, followed by an introduction to video podcasts.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • Develop a strong brand for your podcast and use social media to promote it effectively
  • Learn to script and produce radio jingles, ads, and sweeps to enhance your podcast’s professional sound
  • Understand the process of uploading a podcast to streaming platforms such as Spotify and Apple podcasts
  • Gain insight into video podcast production, including the tools and techniques needed to engage and audience

Class format and activities

There will be lectures with recorded illustrations, demonstrations, practical work, handouts and discussions.

Entry requirements

Completion of Podcast Production 2, or similar course or evidence of equivalent experience. Familiarity with a Digital Audio Workstation or DAW (e.g. Logic, Audacity, ProTools, or similar) is desirable but not essential.

What you need to know before you enrol

There will be a certain amount of work outside the class. Due to the nature of the content of the course you might be exposed to high volume levels. We strongly encourage everyone to bring a pair of ear plugs to every lesson.
