- Prepare and process fibres for papermaking using cotton rags and recycled rag paper
- Use a mould and deckle to produce a range of embossed, laminated, decorative and textured papers
- Experiment with coloured pulp and customised moulds

Class format and activities
The tutor will demonstrate techniques and you will be shown relevant examples. You will practice techniques with observation and feedback. There will be an emphasis on sharing knowledge and experience through discussion, and group critique.
Entry requirements
This course is suitable for beginners or those wishing to refresh their practice of hand papermaking.
What you need to know before you enrol
The class is situated on the second floor of the Nancy Seear Building. There is partial disabled access via a stair lift. Please contact ALS on: 0207 450 1972 before enrolling if you have any mobility support needs.

Apron A pack of J cloths or similar Jam jar (s) A plastic box or strong plastic bag for damp sheets of paper Bags for straining pulp if available A few newspapers You can also bring assorted material to add to the paper, such as thread, wool, lace, petals and leaves.
