There are other versions of this course available. We’ve listed them below and summarized the differences between the one that you are currently viewing.
If you're interested in museum and curation, this short course might be for you. It's an opportunity to handle objects, guess their origins and learn a bit about the stories behind them.
This 6-week course will be delivered by Judy Aitken, Borough Curator for Southwark Council. It will be delivered at the Waterloo centre, and will have sessions given by a freelance photographer and photo editor/ digitiser. Lessons will be practical, with students handling objects. There will also be a short philosophical component to each session, exploring, for example, climate controlled preservation of objects.
The course is suitable for those who are curious about the origin of objects and who have an interest in storytelling. Although open to all, these courses tend to be popular amongst students with a background in fine art, cultural studies and anthropology..
