What you will learn

Join this Advanced course to consolidate your Italian in a friendly and interactive group .Develop your oral and written skills , and your confidence in Italian further discussing on a variety of topics . We will focus on many aspects of the Italian language, culture and traditions . You will also consolidate complex grammatical structures (conditional, subjunctives, past tenses etc.). This course is suitable for advanced level students (Level B2-C1) .

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • Have a greater understanding of the Italian language and how to use some of its structures
  • Read and listen to texts on selected topics
  • Exchange detailed and factual information on selected topics
  • Understand, discuss and write about many day-to-day issues and events with increased confidence, fluency and accuracy.

Class format and activities

You will be taught in a friendly environment that encourages participation in a range of learning activities, including speaking in pairs or groups, written exercises and oral presentations. A variety of teaching and learning methods will be applied to support your learning: Question and answer, group activities, role-plays, multiple choices, gap-filling, listening and reading comprehension. In addition your tutor will use the internet for audio and visual material to support your learning. You should be committed to regular homework in order to reinforce what has been covered each week. Grammar will be an integrated element for all topics and help you to work on your skills more independently . In order to ensure that you make the best possible progress on your course, you will have regular,constructive and supportive feedback from your tutor, who will monitor your achievements by question and answer, some written work, speaking activities, regular homework assignments.and informal feedback in a friendly and supportive environment. Achievement on your course will be measured by whether you meet the learning outcomes above.

We recommend that you have completed stage 4 unit3 or GCSE level or equivalent level before enrolling for this course.

What you need to know before you enrol

Excellent attendance and punctuality is required from all students. Regular work is given to be done at home to support and consolidate your learning. You should therefore dedicate some time for this on a weekly basis.
