Introduction to Silk Screen Printing on Textiles

This course provides an introduction to silk screen printing on textiles, exploring a variety of image-making techniques, including paper stencils, hand-drawn designs, mark-making, and digitally printed positives. Participants will learn to create a range of exciting textile prints.You will work with water-based pigments and various binders to achieve diverse printed effects, such as translucent, opaque, metallic, pearl, and puff finishes.The course covers essential skills, including mixing print pastes, preparing screens, transferring designs onto screens.Students will be encouraged to experiment creatively with screens to produce unique printed textile pieces. These may include a collection printed textile samples or items such as scarves, cushion covers, or tea towels.
