What you will learn

This course is for you if you want to learn about life in the UK and improve your:• reading, writing, speaking and listening in English to help you in your life and work• IT skills for basic communication and learning In this course, you will develop Speaking & Listening, Reading and Writing skills. This term there will be a focus on Entry 1 exam (Speaking and Listening, Reading and Writing) and if you pass an exam you will receive a certificate.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • Work towards using full stops and capitalisation correctly
  • Work towards spelling words correctly

Class format and activities

Days & Time Tuesdays and Fridays from 10.00 to 12.30 Lessons are online and in the classroom. (Depending on COVID-19, this may change)• You will work in pairs or small groups or individually. You will have a one-to-one with your tutor to talk about your progress.• You will experience range of activities such as listening, role play, reading aloud, writing, quizzes ,word searches and other games.• You will use YouTube, an interactive whiteboard and computers to help you learn. Everything that you learn will help you in your daily life. Assessment methods: At the end of term, if you are ready, you will Entry 1 exams (Speaking and Listening, Reading and Writing). If you pass an exam you will receive a certificate.

Entry requirements

There are no entry requirements but you will have an interview.

What you need to know before you enrol

You should be able to use the Roman alphabet. You need to be able to attend every class. If you cannot attend a class, you need to inform your teacher beforehand. A minimum attendance of 90% is required.
