Counselling
…
Are you thinking becoming a Counselling training but have lots of questions? What does training involve? Why does it take so long to train? Do I have to be in therapy? What is counselling and what is psychotherapy? Are psychotherapists like psychiatrists? What is the difference between a psychotherapist and a psychologist? What does psychodynamic mean? Isn’t that Freud? How do I know what model of therapy is right for me? I already have a degree - Why should I do an introductory course? If I do the introductory course at Morley College, can I go on to train somewhere else? What does it take to be a good therapist? How do I know if it’s right for me? What qualities do I need to have? Why is the introductory course at Morley so long? Why should I come to Morley college rather than go somewhere else? What can I do at the end of the training? How much money will I make? What are the professional bodies? By the end of this session, we hope that you will have answers to many of the above questions, or if not, a clear direction and what you can do next.
There will be time for discussion and questions and answers. There may be some changes depending on the group
