This course is for all levels; it provides the opportunity to discover and experiment with fusing and slumping techniques using all forms of Float glass - commonly known as window glass. Float glass is more affordable in price when compared to other specialist fusing glasses, and has its own unique qualities and aesthetic. This course allows you to experiment with float glass as a raw material, in its varying forms from sheet to frit, and to explore with it a variety of techniques. You will be taught the fundamentals of glass cutting, assembly of glass for fusing and slumping, alongside the use of metal inclusions. You will gain an understanding of kiln firings and how temperature affects glass forming results. This course is the perfect introduction for beginners, but also an opportunity for more advanced learners to experiment and explore float glass as a material within self-directed projects, alongside skill building.
