What you will learn

Consolidate and increase your fluency in a friendly and interactive class. Develop your oral skills and your confidence in using the language in a range of communicative situations. This course is suitable for those with an intermediate level knowledge of the language. (Level B1-2)

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • You will continue to expand your vocabulary and work on longer sentence structures, using relative clauses
  • you will be able to express and justify your opinions orally and in writing on topics relating to current affairs in German speaking countries
  • you will consolidate the grammatical structures you have learned in previous classes, eg 2 part conjunctions and passive voice

Class format and activities

You are encouraged to participate actively in a friendly class environment. There will be ample opportunity for pair and small group work

Entry requirements

You probably have learned German for 4 years or have spent some time in a German speaking country. There is no formal entry test but if you are new to the course, the tutor will assess you prior to enrolment

What you need to know before you enrol

Excellent attendance and punctuality is required. Be prepared to spend 1 hour minimum for homework

Paper, pen, a dictionary and lots of enthusiasm! The teacher will advise you in the first lesson which textbook to purchase.

What you can do next

After completing unit 2, you can join unit 3. Most students will stay for the entire academic year.
