What you will learn

It will develop your listening skills while reinforcing your confidence and it will increase your knowledge of French. Ideal if you would like a course which is based on conversation. The course will give you a greater insight into French life and culture. The course will be delivered face-to-face. To access additional resources and homework you may need to use the College’s virtual learning environment, Moodle.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • Ask and answer questions about specific interests
  • Initiate and participate in a conversation
  • Know more about francophone culture, and discuss it
  • Express opinions and ideas
  • Have more confidence in your ability to understand and be understood in simple French.

Class format and activities

This course is characterised by spoken interaction and communication. Preparing discussion also answering unprepared questions following a presentation. A range of resources will be used to support your learning including audio-visual material of authentic passages on familiar matters. Working in pairs ,small groups or whole group discussions and becoming more confident using a range of tenses.

Entry requirements

A proficient knowledge of the French language is required to be able to follow the course in French only. It is also essential that you have some knowledge of basic grammar terminology. If you are not sure about your level, please contact Languages on Languages.Enquiries@morleycollege.ac.uk

This course requires some additional study outside of class time. You will do independent reading, research and language activities before every lesson.
