What you will learn

In this practical course you will learn photography skills and lighting techniques to produce beautiful food and product photographs in our professional studio. You will experiment with different lighting sources and will use a variety of equipment to photograph interestingly composed images. By discovering and discussing the photographs of renowned studio photographers you will explore composition and styling with the aim of recreating the lighting effects of your chosen photographers. You will identify the challenges of food and product photography and will learn how to resolve them. The course is based around practical demonstrations and extensive hands-on practice. By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • Use a variety of studio lighting equipment effectively
  • Use a variety of lighting techniques to create the desirable effects in your photos

    The course will be delivered in Chelsea Centre. You will learn actively and will practice the demonstrated skills during the sessions. Your tutor will continuously support you.

    Entry requirements

    You are required to have a basic photographic knowledge and to be comfortable using your camera in manual settings

    What you need to know before you enrol

    In order to join the course you should have a good understanding of basic camera techniques, such as aperture, shutter speed and ISO.

    What you need

    Students will need to bring their own DSLR, or mirrorless camera that allows access to manual controls.
