You will work with graphite and charcoal, inks, wax resist, frottage and some low-tech printmaking techniques such as mono-print and block printing. You will also experiment with making drawings that to project onto 2D shapes and 3D forms as a starting point for generating ideas. The aim is to help give a more exploratory approach to drawing and mark making i n ceramics and to help generate ideas through exploring materials as well as making observations from and responses to physical objects. Teaching will be by demonstrations, specific exercises and mini projects.
Workshop style class with some tutor directed drawing activities but with scope for further, more independent exploration.

Nothing essential but if you want to bring sketch books/work in progress for discussion you can. Aprons are a good idea. Materials are provided but if you have drawing materials that you would like to bring, you can, but it is not essential.
