An opportunity to build a deeper knowledge of vocal technique and how it can be applied to overcome specific vocal problems. This course will aid the singer in becoming more aware of the sensations produced when their voice is working properly and enable them to create a personalised toolbox of techniques to help them achieve that.
The class will involve vocal warm ups, lectures on how the voice works, discussions on common vocal problems and an opportunity to apply vocal techniques to areas of difficulty in individual repertoire. There will be group, paired and individual activities.
This class is suitable for students with some singing tuition experience (at least 2 years) who would like to develop their technique or more advanced students who would like to deepen their knowledge and understanding of how their voice works.
The class involves a range of activities including physical and vocal warm-ups. Students should be prepared for some solo work.
Equipment for taking notes e.g. a recording device, notebook and pen. Copies of repertoire that has been causing a specific vocal difficulty for the student.
