Are you an aspiring musician, vocalist, producer, performer, rapper, and/or DJ? Are you looking to develop your career and begin your next steps in a newly refurbished college? This programme has been developed to provide students with an understanding of music performance and production as a collaborative activity and prepare them for work in the music industry. The qualification has been designed for students who have a keen interest in music performance and/or music production, and who wish to explore and extend this interest via a full-time, immersive learning experience. The level 3 diploma draws upon established approaches to music teaching, learning and assessment that are successfully proven to appeal to and engage students seeking practical study over a more academic study route. Modules are centred on development of practical skills, industry awareness, and research methods. Applicants should have a keen interest and experience in either music, music production, or music performance. Willingness to learn, improve, and self-motivate will be crucial in ensuring successful completion. Upon successful completion, learners will achieve a BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in either Music Performance or Production, depending on their specialism.
On successful completion of the course, you will achieve the following qualification: BTEC National Extended Diploma in Music [EDEXCEL]
Your Diploma will require compulsory college attendance. It is expected that 16-18 learners will achieve this qualification alongside an appropriate study programme and other timetabled elements, such as work experience and enrichment.
You need to have achieved at least 4s GCSEs at grade 4 (C) or above, including Maths and English, and a related Level 2 qualification, ideally in music.
You must be aware of the attendance, self-study, and homework demands of the course.
Class materials will be provided, as will access to the music technology suites and rehearsal rooms.
