This course will provide an introduction to the movement styles and culture of Bellydance, as well as variations and elements to further develop these. The class will be fun, friendly and informal, allowing opportunities to engage in a different type of dance and fitness whilst emphasising social development. You will be able to learn a variety of new skills and experience the joys of Bellydance through different sequences and combinations, building up to a short choreography. The course is open to all, including those with little or no experience. The tutor will give different options for everyone to feel supported and challenged. Bellydance can help with muscular control, mobility, increased suppleness and so much more, all whilst providing a wonderful boost to your self esteem. Achievement on your course will be measured by whether you meet the following learning outcomes. At the start of the course you will have an opportunity to discuss these with your tutor and set your own personal targets, linked to the learning outcomes and future goals i.e. progression to an advanced-level course.
Mode of delivery: In-centre. In order to ensure you make the best possible progress on your course, you will have regular constructive and supportive feedback from your tutor. The tutor will also set assessment activities involving student exchange of ideas and student self-assessment for all students. The tutor may provide video footage of all set-sequences.

For beginners and those with some previous experience in Bellydance. This course will help you to generate new / build on previous knowledge. Excellent attendance and punctuality will be required from all students.
