What you will learn

The Acting Showcase course gives you the opportunity to rehearse and perform in an industry showcase of invited guests and friends. You will rehearse and perform in short scenes in an external venue, directed by tutor and professional director Chloe Stephens. Please email chloe.stephens@morleycollege.ac.uk to book an audition. You will also need to be available for the production week. 27 and 28 June 10-5pm for tech and dress rehearsals 26 and 27 June 12pm-9.30pm for evening shows and matinees (exact show times tbc)

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • Rehearse and perform short scenes in a showcase performance
  • Work as part of an ensemble
  • Develop voice, movement and acting skills
  • Develop your performance skills

Class format and activities

You will work on developing an industry showcase performance of short scenes in a studio based performance in an external venue. The sessions will be practical and held in the Johnny Harris Drama Studio at Morley College. You will work physically and take part in warm ups and games.

Entry requirements

There will be a friendly audition held to assess your suitability for the course. We are looking for people who: - have some experience of actor training - can work well within a team - are passionate about acting and theatre - are willing to work independently - show an understanding/respect for rehearsal room etiquette e.g. time keeping and discipline - want to progress and learn about acting in a practical way

Clothes in which you can easily move around. Bottle of water. A way of taking notes (laptop / tablet / notebook / phone)
