An introductory workshop exploring the basics of folded, cut and stitched artists books. The session will guide learners through a range of beginner bookbinding structures and introduce effective starter printmaking techniques for creating book content.
There will be demonstration, group discussion, one to one tuition and practical project work.
No previous knowledge of bookbinding or printmaking is required. This class is a great introduction to making books and creative printed book content.
Health and Safety information will be given at the start of the course and in subsequent lessons wherever necessary. You will be required to follow good studio etiquette, clean all equipment and help make sure the studio is left tidy at the end of the class.
Pencil, eraser and notebook for taking notes. Your own sketch books and drawings to work from. We will discuss in the first session if there are any other tools and materials you may want to buy or bring in.
