This one-day course, at Morley Waterloo centre, is an ideal opportunity for students who have some knowledge and experience of glazing bu t would like to further develop and refine application techniques. Your experienced tutor, Alex Huber, will discuss and demonstrate the principles and basic techniques of glazing as well as a range of decorative and textural approaches. The session consists of practical demonstrations, practical application, tips and problem solving and sharing previous experience of glazing with your tutor and with other class members. The insight gained on this course will promote a more personal and creative approach to glazing your ceramic works. Please bring your own bisque ware or bisque test pieces to practice on.

Class format and activities
Your tutor will discuss and demonstrate a range of techniques as well as having the opportunity to discuss problem solving approaches. There will be guided practical activity in order to further develop your skills.

This course is for students who have at least fundamental experience of glazing
What you need to know before you enrol
Glazing is only a moderately physical activity. Your tutor will be happy to assist if needed.
What you need
Bisque ware or bisque test tiles. Pen and note book, apron, brushes and own tools if you have them.
What you can do next
Morley College offers a wide range of courses at all levels of ability. Students can also look to progress onto certificated Part or full time Ceramics or 3D courses such as BETC, BA degree or MA postgraduate courses. Your tutor is also happy to advise in setting up your own studio. Many students go on after several years experience to setting up their own ceramic practice and exhibiting in open studio / house weekends and local and national craft fairs.
