Starts: 7 Jan 2025
Enjoy two days of working with stencils and fine textiles to create multi-layered monoprints on lino. A technique which is both unpredictable and liberating. On the first day, using a single block of lino as a background, time will be spent experimenting with the stencils and materials to make multiple monoprints in a variety of colours. Layers of colour and pattern will gradually build up and continually be overprinted using thin layers of transparent inks and printed onto paper. The resulting prints will be left as monoprints or used as a background base for further printing on the following week. On the second day, using a fresh piece of lino, an image design will be cut and overprinted on a selection of the monoprints made from the previous week.
