Create a unique handmade album as a place to record and keep your textile samples and ideas. Make a simple stitched book with a mix of cloth and paper pages, decorative covers with useful tied tape fastenings. These also make great albums for projects or family memorabilia. and make creative and sustainable use of all kinds of fabric and paper oddments .
A practical workshop with outcomes tailored to each person's work. Group and individual demonstrations, will show basic processes, with tutors and artist-made examples for alternative ideas and variations. Students will discuss and share ideas, and sometimes lend each other a hand when needed. All the processes can be repeated at home with ordinary household equipment and materials, and the set of technical notes provided.

Please note that the Textiles studio E21 is on the second floor of the Nancy Seear building. The class is situated on the second floor of the Nancy Seear Building. There is partial disabled access is via a stair lift. Please contact ALS on: 0207 450 1972 or Art & Design Admin on: 0207 450 1934 before enrolling if you have any mobility support needs.
Please bring a small selection of your own choice of plain or textured cloth, and decorative paper for covers. Basic calico, cotton and good linen cloth and cartridge paper is available in the department.
