What you will learn

This 5-day course is designed for those with little or no experience with throwing clay on the wheel. We will start by learning the basics of centering, basic cylinders and moving on to simple forms. You will learn to manipulate the clay and aim to make pieces that are identical, demonstrating control and understanding. The class will be relaxed and informative with the emphasis on being fun. I want everyone to explore the limits of the material so that they have a better understanding of what can be achieved. The aim of this course is not to walk away with a box of wares, rather to learn and enjoy the process. You will be able to choose a maximum of 5 pieces that will be bisque fired and can be collected to be glazed at a further date. At the end of the course you will have the understanding and ability to explore the wheel further and develop your skill set.
