Suitable for all levels. A fortnightly opportunity to create your own tap steps, combinations and rhythms: Tasks and incentives to make your own choreography to your individual choices of music

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • Develop individual strengths in techniques, rhythms and style. Learn how to self-critique and grow autonomy in your approach to tap danc
  • Explore musicality and learn how to draw tap dance creative choices directly from pieces of music
  • Create your own tap dance choreography
  • Learn how to document and develop your practise

    Paired creative tasks working with tap dance, musicality and rhythm. Tutor-supported solo activities learning how to create themes and sections of choreography to pair with your individual music choice

    Entry requirements

    A good level of fitness. Please consult your doctor if you are pregnant, have any serious health concerns or a history of injury, and inform your tutor of any physical activity you have been advised to avoid

    What you need to know before you enrol

    A good level of fitness is required to be able to do the practical work. However adjustments will be made to the movements to meet particular physical or learning needs. Photography and film recording of class activities may be used in order to aid learning. These images may also be used for publicity or marketing materials produced by Morley College, both online and in print. You will have the opportunity to either confirm or decline consent to being filmed or photographed
