What you will learn

This course is the progression to Spanish 1 (A1). It is the second year of study (A2). You will further develop your language skills and confidence. You will build up your speaking skills and will learn to express plans and opinions in a range of situations (e.g. work, holidays and travel) in a friendly and interactive class. This course is suitable for those who have completed Spanish 1 (A1) or equivalent (approx. 50 hours of study)

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • Express plans and intentions
  • Shop for food and order food in a restaurant
  • Talk about what you have recently done (present perfect)
  • Express opinions, agreement and disagreement

Class format and activities

Developing speaking, listening, reading and writing skills. Learning through practical activities (individual tasks, role-plays, pair and small group work and games) Listening for the gist or basic information. In order to ensure that you make the best possible progress on your course, you will have regular and detailed feedback from your tutor, in a constructive and supportive environment

Entry requirements

To have basic knowledge of Spanish equivalent to 50 hours of tuition (A1)

What you need to know before you enrol

Good attendance and punctuality are required from all students. This course requires study/completion of activities outside of class time (1-2 hours/weekly)

What you need

You will need pen and a notebook for the weekly lessons at the college. Any textbook required for the course will be negotiated by the tutor with students at the beginning of the course. You will also need home connection to Internet and a device to use at home. Access to Morley Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) on a weekly basis. In here you will find class and supplementary material for each lesson.
