What you will learn

If you want to improve your English and basic Maths skills then this course is for you! You have passed your ESOL Entry 2 exams or understand and speak English at a pre-intermediate level. You read and write in your language and can use the Roman alphabet. In this class, you will develop your English and basic numeracy skills in preparation for taking an ESOL Entry 3 exam in the future.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

Work towards gaining better literacy and numeracy skills for everyday purposes
Work towards writing main points in short paragraphs
Obtain information from short and medium length texts

Class format and activities

This is a face-to-face course - you will work in groups, pairs and alone on a varied range of activities such as listening, role play, reading aloud, writing activities, quizzes, games as well as using YouTube, interactive whiteboard and computers to help you learn. Good progress throughout your course will depend on good attendance, regular practice of what you learn in class and completing any homework that your tutor will set.
