What you will learn

Learn the basic concepts of MIDI sequencing, audio recording, apple loops, editing and comping. Excellent foundation if you are new to Logic or want to progress to Logic: Intermediate. Ideal in conjunction with Home Studio Recording. Computer skills are essential.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • Use MIDI sequencing techniques to create drum patterns, chords, melodies and bass lines
  • Use interface and microphones to record directly onto a Logic track
  • Edit MIDI and audio information to create song arrangements
  • Work with a variety of software instruments and effects using preset sounds
  • Use the Drummer plugin creatively
  • Perform basic audio editing and mixing

Entry requirements

Access outside of class to Logic is strongly recommended A strong interest in music. Some experience of using Apple computers would be an advantage, but support during class will be given. Basic computer skills, file management, etc.

Due to the nature of the instruments/content of the course you might be exposed to high volume levels. We strongly encourage everyone to bring a pair of ear plugs to every lesson.
