What you will learn

Learn how to make a charm bracelet , making rosary chain style links and using pliers to wire wrap beads. We will also look at how these skills can be used for making pendants and earrings. Suitable for all levels.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • use pliers accurately to wire wrap beads
  • complete at least one bracelet
  • attach fasteners both correctly and securely

    After looking at and discussing examples and samples, the tutor will demonstrate techniques required to create a chain bracelet with beaded charms. You will then produce a practice piece of jewellery using the materials provided to become familiar with the techniques. , In the afternoon you will continue to practice with your own designs and work through any problems and questions with help from the tutor., There will be an emphasis on sharing knowledge and experience, through discussion, show and tell and group crit. The tutor will facilitate group discussions and work with the students one-to-one and in groups.

    Entry requirements

    No previous experience of jewellery making is necessary. Enthusiasm is an asset!.

    What you need to know before you enrol

    This is a practical course and will require hand skills for working with wire, beads and pliers. The jewellery studio is on the 3rd floor of the main building, there is lift access.

    What you need

    Any loose beads or collections of drilled stones and beads that you may have to use in your own design.,• Beads are provided in the class for learning the techniques. ,• a notebook, a pen, and a fabric tape measure.
