Develop a range of beading skills, including, bead stringing, knotting, multistrand beading and macramé techniques on this evening jewellery workshop. Suitable for beginners or students with experience who are looking to extend their skills with the help of an experienced tutor.
The first week we will start with the basics of learning how to knot between beads, progressing over the next weeks to working with cord and larger hole beads, using crimps, gimp and calottes, how to make embellishments, such as beaded beads, learning about findings, and what materials to use for the task in hand. This a progressive course where you will be building on the skills you learn from lesson to lesson, by the end you will have increased your knowledge and understanding of stringing skills.
No previous experience of beaded jewellery making is necessary. Enthusiasm is an asset!.
This is a practical course and will require hand skills for working with threads and knotting , techniques.
You will be provided with the basic materials & equipment for each session, but as your skills progress it may be worth bringing any beads you have to incorporate into designs created during the course. If you wish to progress with the techniques you are learning on the course a comprehensive list of suggested tools and materials will be provided during the first session, along with suppliers. Hand-outs for each new technique covered will be available, but a notebook & pen is strongly recommended
