This course, Paesaggisti a Napoli nell’Ottocento: Temi e Stili (Landscape Painters in 19th Century Naples: Themes and Styles), focuses on the artistic movement known as the Scuola di Posillipo, which emerged in Naples during the 19th century and changed landscape painting, themes, and styles. You will explore the distinctive style and thematic concerns of landscape painters associated with this school, examining their contributions to the depiction of the Neapolitan landscape. Through an analysis of paintings, you will gain insight into the artistic techniques, motifs, and cultural context of the Posillipo School.
