This course is recommended for intermediate and advanced jewellery makers who want to brush up tips and tricks of the trade and enjoy using our well-equipped North Kensington workshop in the company of similarly competent craftspeople. Suitable for those who want to bring their own project ideas and benefit from one-to-one tutorial support to realise their own jewellery designs. Classes will include tutor demonstrations and sharing of new skills and practices. Non precious metals such as copper or brass sheet will be available to purchase in the workshop. Silver must be purchased independently by the student and tutors will be happy to give advice on buying materials for individual projects. By the end of the course you will have enhanced your knowledge and practice of jewellery making and developed your own individual jewellery project/s.?
The course is entirely face to face in the workshop. The Microsoft Teams Platform is available for course materials and class communication and will enhance your student experience
Previous jewellery making experience is required. Students typically have worked in precious metals and have acquired a range of technical skills. Students will be self- motivated and initiate their own project ideas which they will then be guided and assisted with by the tutor. ?
It is recommended that you speak with the tutor before enrolling.
The workshop is equipped with all the necessary tools and equipment and copper and brass are available to purchase form the tutor. However, typically students will supply their own precious metal and gems choosing materials appropriate for their own designs. It is recommended that you bring a notepad, pencil and an apron.
