What you will learn

Improve your hand and foot techniques and the complexity of your rhythmic and ensemble skills while exploring a range of drumming styles. Suitable for players with a year's experience.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • Reinforce and apply your Timekeeping skills with and without a click/backing track
  • Apply relevant techniques to different/specific contemporary music/drumming styles
  • Identify and apply a wider range of drumming rudiments
  • Develop Chart reading skills
  • Enhance and apply your music reading skills
  • Perform in front of the class

Class format and activities

Follow verbal instructions and practical demonstrations, work and practise as part of the group and individually and Perform in front of the class. Your input and participation in discussions and Q&A sessions is very important

Entry requirements

Participants are required to have attended Level 1 or: Be able to play Crotchet, Quaver, Triplet and Semiquaver based grooves on the Drum kit Have some knowledge of basic music reading elements Online enrolment on term 2 of this course, starting in January , is only available to those enrolled in the previous term.If you are a current student you will have received an email alerting you to this. What you need to know before you enrol

A regular practice routine is essential to keep up with the course and get the most out of it. Due to the nature of the instruments/content of the course you might be exposed to high volume levels. We strongly encourage everyone to bring a pair of ear plugs to every lesson.
