The focus of this practical course is on experimenting imaginatively with design, fabric painting, printing, dyeing, quilting, applique, embellishment, to both help generate ideas and samples and also to produce ‘complete’ pieces of work. There will also be time to develop your own projects in a stimulating and sympathetic environment. Students will be given a challenge/theme to work through each term and be encouraged to develop a sketchbook of ideas and techniques. The design and development process with an emphasis on personal growth will be encouraged throughout the three terms. The course has been developed to span the whole academic year, or you can take terms separately for particular topics.
