The course will be delivered through a combination of interactive lessons, problem-solving activities, and practical examples. Students will have the opportunity to engage in hands-on exercises, group discussions, and individual study to reinforce their learning. Additionally, regular assessments and feedback will help students track their progress and identify areas that require further attention.
There are no specific knowledge prerequisites for this course. It is designed for individuals with very limited computer experience. English language at entry level 2 or above. All new students must take an initial assessment before enrolling, and assessment dates are regularly updated on our website. If you are a progressing student from one of our Computer Skills for Beginners classes, your tutor will assess whether you're ready to join this class or discuss alternative routes. This decision will be based on your progress towards set targets, attendance, homework, and assessment records.
This course runs once a week, and you are expected to attend every session. A minimum of 90% attendance and punctuality is required from all students. In addition to attending classes, you will need to dedicate some personal study time to complete homework using a computer or digital device. Please set aside at least 2 hours per week for these activities. Before enrolling, evaluate your existing commitments and ensure you have access to a digital device with an internet connection outside the timetabled class hours. This will be essential for completing weekly homework, revision, and practice.
You will need writing materials, a notebook, and access to a computer or tablet with an internet connection for your homework. Also, bring a positive attitude and a willingness to actively participate in class discussions, ask questions, and engage with the class. Having a growth mindset and a genuine enthusiasm for learning will contribute to your success!
