On successful completion of the course, you will achieve the following qualification: Award in Bookkeeping [AAT]

Class format and activities

There will be a mixture of online and face to face taught sessions. You will participate in group activities and individualised tasks. The teacher will support and give you guidance to enable you to complete the elements required.

Entry requirements

With this qualification there’s no need for any prior accounting knowledge. This qualification will give you a solid background in single entry bookkeeping.

What you need to know before you enrol

The Access Award in Bookkeeping offers an introduction to the core areas of Bookkeeping. It consists of one unit and associated assessment, covering the role of a bookkeeper and the basic techniques needed to complete simple bookkeeping activities.

What you need

You will need basic stationery a pen, pencils, a calculator and paper. The college will provide a computer, internet access and the AAT software when required.

What you can do next

You can progress within the college onto the next level AAT bookkeeping course if successful. The tutor will assess if you can progress onto the AAT Level 2 Foundation Certificate in Accounting.
