What you will learn

Wood carving Sculpture Taster evening course for Beginners to get a feel for wood and explore tools and techniques. Wood sculpture term students can also use this courses to develop and complete their ongoing projects from the term. Materials, tools and PPE provided. All levels welcome especially Beginners.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

Explore the properties of wood as a carving medium
Work with wood carving hand tools
Gain some understanding of how to use power tools safely
Cut and shape wood effectively to complete a sample

Class format and activities

Group and 1:1 demonstration and guidance with student practice of techniques. Wood carving term students will develop and complete projects from term with Tutor guidance.

Entry requirements

None all levels welcome especially beginners.

Pelham Hall Sculpture studio is offsite 5 minute walk from the Main College on Lambeth walk

Wear sturdy closed shoes or boots and protective clothing.
