What you will learn

You will develop your skills in writing and revising poems alongside others at the same stage. We will explore a range of themes, styles and forms through close reading of examples and engaging prompts to stretch your poetry writing. You will be sharing your poetry in a safe space and receiving and giving constructive, critical feedback. On this course you will be inspired to write new poems and develop old ones to send out.

develop your critical skills in response to others’ poetry
extend your knowledge of contemporary poetry.

Class format and activities

We will workshop your poetry each week, but also focus on learning themes, styles and forms, reading examples from contemporary poetry and doing in-class writing exercises.
