Ceramics: Wheel Throwing and Decorative Processes

This course is suitable for beginners and intermediate throwers and is also suitable for all levels. This course will give you the chance to explore ceramics and its potential for creative output, and in doing so improve your wellbeing. You will learn techniques to make simple items and learn about slip decoration and glazing. Students will be introduced to throwing on the potters wheel and will be encouraged to develop their skills and to express their own creative ideas throughout the workshop. Students will also experiment with surface decoration techniques such as slip trailing, wax resistance, and Sgraffito glazing. You will have the chance to produce a piece of work or several test pieces at a pace that suits you.
