What you will learn

This course follows on from DJ Techniques, introducing advanced DJ concepts, terminology, and the practice of becoming an effective DJ. Learn how to Beat-match effectively, advanced EQ use, and learn how to program a DJ set on the latest CDJ3000’s and vinyl. Includes an extensive overview of how to work as a professional DJ. Suitable for Intermediate or advanced beginner.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • Set up and use Rekordbox for CDJ 3000 effectively
  • Mix using laptop with CDJ 3000 Via Serato DJ Pro
  • Use advanced mixing techniques: beatmatching/cueing up/EQ levels
  • Program and record a live DJ set
  • Film your DJ set for social media platforms
  • Gain experience of playing back to back with other DJs

Entry requirements

A strong interest in music, Basic knowledge of dance Music and DJing, completion of beginners DJ Techniques course or similar experience welcome.

What you need to know before you enrol

Handling and lifting of audio equipment such as cables, speakers and DJ equipment and consoles are an essential part of this class. Advice on safe handling of equipment will be given at the beginning of the course. Due to the nature of the instruments/content of the course you might be exposed to high volume levels. We strongly encourage everyone to bring a pair of ear plugs to every lesson.
