What you will learn

Suitable for experienced tap-dancers who have established higher level skills in the rhythms and techniques of rhythm tap, via RT3 and in higher level classes elsewhere, and wish to progress further: Rhythm Tap 4, an advanced-level upbeat non-syllabus tap class, led by innovative tap company Sole Rebel, embellishing tap, rhythm, musicality and performance techniques.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • Demonstrate new complex tap steps and combinations
  • Develop a confidence to explore improvisation and musicality
  • Dance a learned routine independently
  • Understand performance techniques through cross-art and peer collaboration, and though opportunities to perform

    A warm-up followed by a number of new tap steps are explored and practised, through dynamic exercises and a vast range of music. There will be opportunity to discover improvisation techniques. At the end of class a short fun routine is developed and rehearsed, built up across the course. You will also receive a weekly 5-minute routine-recap video to aid your practise

    Entry requirements

    A good level of fitness. Please consult your doctor if you are pregnant, have any serious health concerns or a history of injury, and inform your tutor of any physical activity you have been advised to avoid.

    What you need to know before you enrol

    A good level of fitness is required to be able to do the practical work. However adjustments will be made to the movements to meet particular physical or learning needs. Photography and film recording of class activities may be used in order to aid learning. These images may also be used for publicity or marketing materials produced by Morley College, both online and in print. You will have the opportunity to either confirm or decline consent to being filmed or photographed.
