Are you an aspiring musician, vocalist, producer, performer, rapper, and/or DJ? Are you looking to develop your career and begin your next steps in a newly refurbished college? This programme has been developed to provide students with an understanding of music performance and production as a collaborative activity and prepare them for work in the music industry. The qualification has been designed for students who have a keen interest in music performance and/or music production, and who wish to explore and extend this interest via a full-time, immersive learning experience. The level 3 diploma draws upon established approaches to music teaching, learning and assessment that are successfully proven to appeal to and engage students seeking practical study over a more academic study route. Modules are centred on development of practical skills, industry awareness, and research methods. Applicants should have a keen interest and experience in either music, music production, or music performance. Willingness to learn, improve, and self-motivate will be crucial in ensuring successful completion. Upon successful completion, learners will achieve a BTEC Level 2 Diploma in either Music Performance or Production, depending on their specialism.
On successful completion of the course, you will achieve the following qualification: BTEC Diploma in Music Industry Skills [EDEXCEL]
Your Diploma will require 3 days of college attendance. It is expected that 16-18 learners will achieve this qualification alongside an appropriate study programme and other timetabled elements, such as work experience and enrichment.
Four GCSEs at grade 3 including English or maths.
You must be aware of the attendance, concentration, self-study, and homework demands of the course.
Class materials will be provided, as will access to the music technology suites and rehearsal rooms.
